A poor day for weather, with rain and overcast conditions through the morning, drying up this afternoon, with more rain and increasing winds due overnight. Mild today at 17c in a fresh south-southwest wind.
The Glossy Ibis was at Fauvic again today, and a Great White Egret was seen in a cowfield at Maufant. 27 Cattle Egrets were near Home Grown in Grouville and 2 Wheatears were on Fauvic promenade. A Grey Wagtail was at Rozel again, too.
149 Brent Geese at Bel Royal included at least 48 pale-bellied birds. 2 Stonechats were on Beauport Common this afternoon. At Petit Port were 26 Curlews, a Mediterranean Gull, a Turnstone, 28 Great Black-backed Gulls and a Lesser Black-backed Gull.
In St Ouen's Bay Sandpits were 7 Little Grebes, 49 Tufted Ducks, 25 Cormorants, a Grey Heron, 60 Coot and 2 Marsh Harriers. Yesterday afternoon, a Barn Owl was filmed sitting on a post by the side of the Five Mile Road, near the Barge Aground. On St Ouen's Pond Scrape this morning were 9 Teal, a juvenile Marsh Harrier and 3 Chiffchaffs and on the Pond were 9 Shovelers, 2 Teal, 2 Tufted Ducks and 3 Black-headed Gulls.
At Le Catillon were 2 Cattle Egrets and 5 Swallows and at Grouville Marsh were a Grey Heron, a Grey Wagtail and a Chiffchaff. In Grouville Bay were 23 Brent Geese, 11 Ringed Plovers, 3 Sandwich Terns, 40 Linnets, 6 Meadow Pipits, and seen from Le Hurel were 370 Black-headed Gulls, and a Mediterranean Gull. 3 Grey Herons were at La Sente.
In Vallee des Vaux were 8 Chiffchaffs, a Blackcap, 3 Firecrests and, flying over was a Marsh Harrier. 25 Meadow Pipits were at Augres in Trinity.
