
07.08.2026 Willow Warbler at Corbiere today MD
A mainly fine day with light northerly winds.
At St Ouen's Pond from first light this morning were 500 Swallows, 15 Sand Martins, 30 Sedge Warblers, 45 Reed Warblers, 4 Willow Warblers, 2 Stonechats, 3 Swifts, 5 Grey Herons, 2 Kestrels, a Sparrowhawk, a Marsh Harrier, and 16 Buzzards including a pale-phase individual. On Mont Matthieu were 8 Willow Warblers, 20 Linnets, 45 House Martins, a Sand Martin and 20 Swallows.
On Les Ecrehous were 38 Sanderlings, 78 Turnstones, 50+ Oystercatchers, 2 Ringed Plovers, a Purple Sandpiper, 80+ Sandwich Terns and 50+ Common Terns.
Early morning, off of Corbiere were 25 Balearic Shearwaters, 27 Manx Shearwaters, 101 Gannets, 3 Fulmars, 4 Cormorants, 107 Mediterranean Gulls, 30 Black-headed Gulls, 11 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, 64 Great Black-backed Gulls and a Curlew, with a Willow Warbler in bushes by the bottom car park. At Petit Port later, were 22 Curlews, 5 Little Egrets, 2 Ringed Plovers, a Lesser Black-backed Gull and 45 Mediterranean Gulls.
At St Aubin were 10 Redshanks, 29 Mediterranean Gulls and 23 Black-headed Gulls and at Noirmont were 11 Swallows, 2 Willow Warblers and 2 Dartford Warblers.
95 Sandwich Terns were at Seymour, in Grouville Bay and a Kingfisher was in Queen's Valley. On the north coast, 6 Ravens, 20 Swallows and a pale-phase Buzzard were at Sorel.
Back to yesterday and at St Ouens Pond in the evening were 15
