11.06.2024 A male Wheatear at Corbiere this morning, in less than pristine condition MD
A fine day in a cold north-northwest wind.
A male Wheatear was a new arrival at Corbiere this morning. Offshore counts from there through the morning include 83 Manx Shearwaters, 5 Balearic Shearwaters, 46 Guillemots, a Razorbill, 11 Fulmars, 23 Gannets, 3 Kittiwakes, 7 Lesser Black-backed Gulls and a flock of 5 Whimbrels heading over high to the South. 2 Peregrines were also seen. At Petit Port was a Curlew and the usual Oystercatchers, but no Shelduck were visible there this morning.
4 Shelducklings were with adults at Le Pulec this morning, but only 3 young were seen there this afternoon.
Evening update: A family of Shelduck was at La Pulente this evening with at least 8 young visible and a lone Shelduck was at Petit Port.
