11.07.2024 One of the adult Lapwing still watching over their now fledged young MD
An almost windless day, mostly sunny which turned cloudy this afternoon.
Not good conditions for sea watching this morning with only 10 Common Scoter, 10 Mediterranean Gull, 14 Black-headed Gull, 18 Lesser Black-backed Gull and a Guillemot passing Corbiere while 7 Swallow and 2 Sand Martin headed off south.
Roosting at Petit Port were a Whimbrel and 28 Curlew.
On the Scrape were 3 Green Sandpiper, 6 Lapwing which included 3 flying juveniles, the Shelduck family, a Grey Heron, 10 Swallow and 2 Skylark while another Green Sandpiper and a Water Rail were in the mud pond in front of the Wetlands Centre.
In Grouville Bay were 260 Black-headed Gull, 15 Mediterranean Gull including a Polish ringed bird, a Sandwich Tern, 2 Great Crested Grebe and 5 Grey Heron.
