14.06.24 Peregrines checking their bearings recently. MD
A cold day for the season, with a fresh west-southwest wind and a period of heavy showers this afternoon.
There is little sign of Summer arriving yet and new bird reports are scarce. On the Shelduck front, the pair were still with 10 ducklings at La Pulente with another pair of Shelduck but no young. In the Sandpits, Oystercatchers now have 2 chicks. 3 Choughs were at Le Pulec.
A short seawatch at Corbiere this morning saw a pair of Shelduck flying East then returning West, 2 Common Scoters, 18 Manx Shearwaters, 3 Balearic Shearwaters, 5 Fulmars, 25 Gannets, 3 Kittiwakes, a Sandwich Tern, a commic tern sp and 3 Lesser Black-backed Gulls.
An immature Peregrine in flight yesterday. MD
