A mixed day, mainly cloudy with some heavy showers this morning. Winds were fresh from the northeast.
The second Wryneck of the Autumn passage was at Noirmont this afternoon, where a Spotted Flycatcher, a Wheatear, 5 Willow Warblers, 2 Tree Pipits, a Great Spotted Woodpecker and 20 Goldfinches were also seen.
On St Ouen's Pond and Scrape were a Little Ringed Plover, 4 Green Sandpipers, a Common Sandpiper, a Redshank, a Dunlin, a Snipe, 2 Teal, 5 Shovelers, a Sparrowhawk, 2 Wheatears, 10 Swallows, 8 Sand Martins and 2 House Martins. In the Sandpits were 3 Grey Herons, 48 Tufted Ducks, 12 Little Grebes, 280 Coot, 3 Little Egrets, 3 Common Sandpipers, 9 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, 14 Great Black-backed Gulls, 15 Black-headed Gulls, a Raven, a Buzzard and a Kestrel.
Seawatching from Corbiere this morning recorded 2 Arctic Skuas, 304 Balearic Shearwaters, 4 Manx Shearwaters, 47 Gannets, 2 Fulmars, a Yellow-legged Gull, 27 Mediterranean Gulls, 13 Black-headed Gulls, 59 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, 2 Common Gulls, 47 Sandwich Terns, 5 Common Terns, 6 Dunlin, 2 Redshanks, a Ringed Plover, a Common Sandpiper, a Grey Heron and 2 Peregrines. In Petit Port Bay this afternoon were 106 Mediterranean Gulls, 2 Yellow-legged Gulls, 12 Common Terns, 85 Sandwich Terns, 2 Redshanks and a Dunlin.
In Grouville Bay were 84 Sandwich Terns, 6 Ringed Plovers, a Snipe and a Dunlin, while at La Rocque were 2 Greenshanks and 5 Grey Plovers. 11 Cattle Egrets were at Rue du Parcq in Grouville Bay. 20+ Ringed Plovers were at Seymour and 3 Wheatears were on Grouville Common.
Elsewhere, 3 Wheatears were in the Elizabeth Marina in St Helier and juvenile Long-eared Owl was at Les Gellettes in St Lawrence.
