24.05.2024 A Garden Warbler in song in Les Ormes Valley yesterday....thanks to Romano for the picture
A beautiful spring day with a light westerly wind
Skylarks seem to be doing well in St Ouen's Bay with pairs north and south of St Ouen's Pond and at least two pairs on Les Blanches Banques, sadly the field to the east of the Pond, with a probable pair, has been cut. The main stronghold is still at Jersey Airport and will be surveyed in June.
There were still a few Swallows and House Martins moving through St Ouen's Bay today, also 35 Swifts behind St Ouen's Pond. A Barn Owl was seen at Bouley Bay this morning.
A few more records from yesterday, 11 Swifts were at the colony on Elizabeth Castle also a Little Egret here. Last night two Storm Petrels were at Corbiere.
