27.05.2024 a colourful picture from Mick of a Dartford Warbler
Sunny periods and showers, in a moderate westerly wind
A ringing session at Grouville Marsh early this morning found 20 Reed Warblers, 3 singing Blackcaps, a recently fledged Chiffchaff, a Bullfinch, a pair of Marsh Harriers and 2 Swifts overhead.
At St Ouen's Pond 38 Swallows, 60 House Martins, 12 Swifts, singing Reed and Cetti's Warblers. Further up St Ouen's Bay 8 Choughs were at Les Laveurs.
A walk along the cliff path from Plemont to Grand Becquet found 12 Razorbills, 2 Puffins, 10 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, Blackcap and Dartford Warblers and 5 Swifts. Raptors seen included Buzzard, Kestrel and Peregrine Falcon. In Vallee des Vaux a Songthrush was nest building and 4 Bullfinch. Finally a Cuckoo was heard at Egypt.
