07.06.2025 A beautiful immature Lesser Black-backed Gull passing Grosnez MD
A poor day, weather-wise, with heavy showers and a cool and gusty southwest wind
Seabirds were to the fore today. Seen passing Corbiere were 48 Manx Shearwaters, 4 Balearic Shearwaters, 13 Gannets and 3 Great Black-backed Gulls.
Passing Grosnez, were 20 Manx Shearwaters, a Guillemot, 20 Gannets, 18 Fulmars, 36 Shags, 4 Cormorants, 22 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, 19 Great Black-backed Gulls, a Raven and a single Swift.
The resident male Wigeon was at the Wetland centre this morning in company with 3 Mallards, with 65 Swallows, House Martins and Sand Martins feeding low over St Ouen's Pond. A late record for the 4th June was a family of 5 Water Rails in front of the Wetland centre.
