
A terrible day for weather, with rain, often heavy, also some hill fog and poor visibility at times until late afternoon, winds mainly from the south.
Unsurprisingly, not many birds to report, but thanks to the hardy souls who did venture out. At Beaumont Marsh were 420 Brent Geese, 150 Black-headed Gulls, 2 Mediterranean Gulls, 2 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, 2 Little Egrets, 18 Meadow Pipits, a Grey Wagtail, 6 Pied Wagtails, 55 Mallard and a Grey Heron. At St Aubin late on were 14 pale-bellied Brent Geese.
At Grands Vaux reservoir were 9 Tufted Duck. At Augres were 130 Chaffinches and at Rue des Ifs were 1,200 Chaffinches, 60 Redwings and 45 Linnets. Seen in a Garden in Vallee des Vaux were 2 Blackcaps and a pair of Great Spotted Woodpecker on feeders and later, towards Dusk 14 Woodcock flew over including two pairs and 2 Redwings plus 2 Song Thrushes were also there.
