
Another very poor morning weatherwise, with persistent rain until mid-morning, then cloudy conditions in a strong west-northwest wind.
On the more sheltered east side of the Island, at La Sente were 400 Brent Geese, including one pale-bellied Brent, 84 Redshanks, 7 Greenshanks, 2 Shoveler, 8 Grey Heron and a Mediterranean Gull. Around La Rocque Harbour were 11 Great Northern Divers, a Black-necked Grebe, 5 Great Crested Grebes, 9 Red-breasted Mergansers, 125 Brent Geese and a Black Redstart. Le Catillon held 126 Common Gulls, 88 Mediterranean Gulls, 4 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, 230 Black-headed Gulls, 7 Fieldfares, 15 Redwings and 30 Starlings.
Passing Corbiere in the rain were 31 Gannets, 17 Fulmars, 15 Guillemots, 5 Razorbills, 3 Kittiwakes, 6 Cormorants, 8 Lesser Black-backed Gulls and 15 Great Black-backed Gulls.
On St Ouen's Pond were 54 Teal, 59 Shoveler, 10 Pochard, 9 Tufted Duck, 26 Lapwings, 2 Snipe, 7 Lesser Black-backed Gulls and 13 Great Black-backed Gulls. c100 Brent Geese were feeding by the Scrape. In the backfields behind the Pond were 120 Stock Doves, 30 Chaffinches, 2 Skylarks, 2 Grey Herons, a Chiffchaff, a Firecrest, 2 Ravens and 4 Choughs.
In Beaumont Marsh were 530 Brent Geese, 10 pale-bellied Brent, 130 Black-headed Gulls, 27 Mediterranean Gulls and a Lesser Black-backed Gull and at St Aubin were 24 Redshanks.
In Rue des Ifs, Trinity, were c1000 Chaffinches and 5
Redwings and on Handois Reservoir were 2
Tufted Duck, 6
Woodcock, a
Grey Heron and 2
Ravens.
