
18.05.2025 Whimbrel passing Corbiere MD
The fine weather continues, still with a cool-feeling east-northeast wind
Seen from Grosnez this morning were 2 Manx Shearwaters, 12 Guillemots, a Razorbill, 15 Fulmars, 18 Gannets, 6 Common Terns, 2 Kittiwakes, 22 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, a Little Egret, 14 Swifts , 25 Swallows and a House Martin. On the ground at les Landes were a male and a juvenile Stonechat, 4 Stock Doves, 10 Linnets and 5 Goldfinches, while passing overhead were a male Wigeon in company with 5 Mallards, 6 Ravens, 2 Marsh Harriers, 2 Buzzards and 2 Choughs.
In Stinky Bay at Le Pulec was a Shelduck and on St Ouen's Pond Scrape were a pair of Shelduck, 3 Little Egrets and 5 Lapwings. 4 Swifts and several Swallows were feeding over St Ouen's Pond. 2 pairs of Little Grebes were on Kempt Tower pools, both feeding young.
At Corbiere was a late Wheatear and in Petit Port Bay was a Bar-tailed Godwit.
