A cloudy start, but a sunny afternoon, with a light north-east wind.
It was quiet early on at Corbiere, 2 Balearic Shearwaters, a Manx Shearwater, 5 Guillemots, 2 Kittiwakes, 9 Lesser Black-backs, 2 Fulmars, 15 Gannets, a Whimbrel and 2 Swallows. Round the corner at Petit Port a single Turnstone and the drake Shelduck. There was no sign of yesterday's Turtle Dove at Noirmont, but a Hobby drifted over, also a Raven and 5 Common Buzzards.
At St Ouen's Pond 3 Shovelers, a late female Teal, 3 Grey Herons, 20 Reed Warblers, 25 House Martins, 30 Swallows, 40 Swifts, a pair of Stonechats and a pair of Whitethroats. At the Scrape a Yellow Wagtail, a male Reed Bunting and an unidentified wader which flew in but was not seen again, one to look out for.
Other birds seen today included a Redshank and Common Sandpiper in the Sandpits. A Grey Heron, 2 Ravens, a Peregrine and 2 Dartford Warblers. at Bouley Bay. In Anne Port at first light several hundreds of gulls mainly Herring Gulls were roosting offshore.
Yesterday up at Sorel Point a pair of Stonechats and a Dartford Warbler. In St Ouen's Bay 50 Swifts and a Swallowtail Butterfly.
