A dry and sometimes sunny day, but cold at (7c) in a cutting northeast wind
Today's counts at La Sente included 2 Cattle Egrets, 13 Little Egrets, 9 Grey Herons, 2 Shovelers, a Wigeon, 2 Lapwings, 23 Black-headed Gulls and 24 Pied Wagtails. Opposite Holme Grown at Fauvic were 2 Cattle Egrets and a Little Egret. At Rue Raises were 200 Black-headed Gulls, 6 Mediterranean Gulls. 2 Lesser Black-backed Gulls and a Stonechat.
At St Ouen's Pond and Scrape were 53 Shovelers, 8 Pochard, 3 Tufted Duck, 5 Wigeon, 27 Lapwings, 7 Snipe, and 3 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, plus a pair of Marsh Harriers in display flight together. 350 Brent Geese were on the Scrape.
Seen from Grosnez were 12 Gannets, 8 Great Black-backed Gulls, a Lesser Black-backed Gull, a Guillemot, a Peregrine, 2 Porpoises and a large pod of Dolphin sp farther offshore.
500 Brent Geese were in Beaumont Marsh, 6 Turnstones and 15 pale-bellied Brent Geese were at St Aubin and 33 Oystercatchers were at Havre des Pas.
Elsewhere, 7 Song Thrushes and a Redwing were at Gorselands, a Great Spotted Woodpecker was drumming at Pont Marquet and another was drumming at La Dimerie, where both Blackbird and Song Thrush were in song this morning.
