It was back to poor conditions once again, becoming wet before mid-morning and staying that way through daylight hours, mild at 11c with

a fresh southwest wind.


A nice surprise by the Corbiere Phare this morning was a singing Cirl Bunting. Offshore at Corbiere were a Shelduck, 20 Curlews, a Fulmar 2 Gannets, 9 Great Black-backed Gulls and 3 lesser Black-backed Gulls. In Petit Port Bay were 12 Brent Geese, 21 Curlews, 7 Turnstones, a Mediterranean Gull, a Lesser Black-backed Gull  and 3 Shags.


At St Ouen's Pond were 5 Wigeon, 6 Tufted Duck, 20 Shovelers, a Snipe, 24 Lapwings, a Grey Heron, 9 Great Black-backed Gulls, a singing Skylark, a Chiffchaff, 62 Starlings and 2 Buzzards. Another Skylark was singing on the Sand Dunes and at the bottom of Jubilee Hill were 22 Lesser Black-backed Gulls  and 54 Great Black-backed Gulls.


At La Sente were a Greylag Goose again after an absence of some days, 83 Cattle Egrets, 14 Little Egrets, 6 Grey Herons, 7 Greenshanks, 82 Redshanks, 17 Mediterranean Gulls, 16 Common Gulls, 145 Black-headed Gulls, 2 Shovelers, a Wigeon, 120 Brent Geese, 7 Song Thrushes, 11 Pied Wagtails and 2 Ravens. Around La Rocque were 3 Great Northern Divers, 5 Black-necked Grebes, 3 Slavonian Grebes,  5 Red-breasted Mergansers, 2 Curlews, and 33 Brent Geese, and seen from Le Hurel were 4 Red-breasted Mergansers and a small auk sp. In Rue de Parcq were another 8 Cattle Egrets.


In Beaumont Marsh were 52 Mediterranean Gulls, 84 Black-headed Gulls, 5 Lesser Black-backed Gulls and 12 pale-bellied Brent Geese. Elsewhere: In Vallee des Vaux were 3 Blackcaps and a singing Firecrest with another singing Firecrest heard in a garden in St John. In Rue des Ifs in Trinity were 500 Chaffinches and 20 Linnets.


Yesterday, at Mont Mado in St John were 2 Snipe and some overflying Redwings with Redwings also heard overhead at Egypt.
