A dry day with variable amounts of medium level cloud in light winds.
There was little by way of visbile migration over Noirmont this morning, but on the ground there the Nightingale put in a re-appearance by the bunker and scattered around the headland were 7 Wheatears, 2 Whinchats, 4 Redstarts, 5+ Whitethroats, a Willow Warbler, a Blackcap, and 2 Dartford Warblers. Flying over were 2 Ringed Plovers, 3 Yellow Wagtails, 2 Tree Pipits, 32 Swallows, a Sparrowhawk and a juvenile Marsh Harrier, while offshore were 30 Black-headed Gulls, 7 Mediterranean Gulls, 19 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, a Fulmar and 23 Gannets.
In St Ouen's Bay, starting at St Ouen's Pond, were a juvenile Shelduck, a Little Grebe, a Grey Heron, 50 Reed Warblers, 15 Sedge Warblers, 10 Willow Warblers, 8 Chiffchaffs, 10 Cetti's Warblers, a Whinchat, 20 House Martins, 150 Swallows, a Kingfisher, a Sparrowhawk, 5 Marsh Harriers, 2 Ravens and 3 Water Rails. On the Scrape were a Ruff, a Greenshank, 2 Redshanks, 2 Wood Sandpipers, 3 Common Sandpipers, a Dunlin, a Snipe, 11 Yellow Wagtails, 2 Reed Warblers, a Mediterranean Gull and 7 Black-headed Gulls. At Le Pulec were 6 Curlews, 136 Oystercatchers, 11 Little Egrets, 11 Cormorants, 5 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, a Peregrine, a Kestrel, 3 Stonechats, 4 Common Sandpipers, 2 White Wagtails and 2 Grey Seals.
Birds roosting at Petit Port included 64 Mediterranean Gulls, 46 Sandwich Terns, 16 Curlews, 5 Lesser Black-backed Gulls and 8 Black-backed Gulls. At St Aubin were 200 Black-headed Gulls, 9 Redshanks, 6 Sandwich Terns and 2 Little Egrets.
Migrants at Sorel included 3 Whinchats, 4 Wheatears, 2 Whitethroats, a Redstart, a Spotted Flycatcher and 50+ Swallows.
By St Catherine's Lifeboat Station were 20 Black-headed Gulls and 2 Mediterranean Gulls and in St Catherine's Woods were a Cormorant, a Grey Heron, a Sparrowhawk, 2 Buzzards, 2 Short-toed Treecreepers, a Firecrest and a Goldcrest. Another Grey Heron was seen on Rue de la Garenne.
Back to yesterday evening at St Ouen's Pond, when 10 Reed Warblers, 3 Sedge Warblers, 4 Willow Warblers, a Whinchat, 3 Stonechats, 20 Swallows, a Sand Martin, 3 Water Rails and a Barn Owl were present.
