A very Autumnal feeling day, with rain this afternoon and a strong south-west wind.
This morning's seawatching from Corbiere recorded 148 Manx Shearwaters, 32 Balearic Shearwaters, a Fulmar, 25 Gannets, 9 Cormorants, a Kittiwake, 185 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, 20 Mediterranean Gulls, 9 Black-headed Gulls, just 5 Sandwich Terns, 16 Great Black-backed Gulls, a Grey Wagtail, 4 Yellow Wagtails, a White Wagtail, 3 Wheatears, a Grey Heron and a Raven. Birds at Petit Port included a Whimbrel, 28 Curlews, 9 Mediterranean Gulls, 50+ Black-headed Gulls, 36 Sandwich Terns, 2 Lesser Black-backed Gulls and 11 Little Egrets.
On the Scrape were a Greenshank ( also seen there last night), a Common Sandpiper, a Snipe, 2 White Wagtails, 2 Reed Buntings and 32 Swallows feeding overhead. Between Sands and La Tour Carree were 26 Ringed Plovers, a Dunlin and a Sanderling. Also on St Ouen's Beach were 83 Great Black-backed Gulls and 34 Lesser Black-backed Gulls.
At St Aubin were 17 Mediterranean Gulls, 27 Black-headed Gulls and 16 Redshanks and at La Rocque Harbour were 70 Sandwich Terns. By Rondel's Farm were 12 Swallows and another 4 Swallows were seen neat the Prison at La Moye.
In a wet n'wild St Ouen's Bay this evening were 2 Yellow-legged Gulls, 63 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, 107 Great Black-backed Gulls, 44 Herring Gulls and 22 Mediterranean Gulls. At St Aubin this evening were 28 Sandwich Terns, 27 Oystercatchers and a Grey Heron and on the Scrape was a Little Ringed Plover. In Vallee des Vaux were 2 Firecrests, 3 Bullfinches and a Blackcap and at the Farmer's Cricket ground, 2 White Wagtails.
