A fair to to cloudy morning with some showery weather this afternoon, in a fresh southwest wind.
There was a remarkable passage of Shearwaters passing Corbiere this morning with 1,981 Manx Shearwaters counted moving West in two hours, also 104 Balearic Shearwaters. Also seen were 2 Arctic Skuas, a Fulmar, 116 Gannets, 22 Sandwich Terns, 46 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, 41 Mediterranean Gulls, 18 Black-headed Gulls, 2 Kittiwakes, 8 Ringed Plovers, 3 Whimbrels, a Curlew and on the ground, 3 Wheatears and overhead, a Peregrine. At Petit Port were 31 Curlews, a Grey Heron, 3 Mediterranean Gulls, 13 Black-headed Gulls and 3 Sandwich Terns.
Meanwhile, passing Grosnez were a further 288 Manx Shearwaters, 38 Balearic Shearwaters, 37 Lesser Black-backed Gulls, 3 Mediterranean Gulls, 11 Sandwich Terns, a Guillemot and a Crossbill.
In St Ouen's Bay were 20 Ringed Plovers, 3 Dunlin and 2 Sanderlings, at St Aubin were 15 Redshanks and on Beauport Common were 3 Spotted Flycatchers and 3 Willow Warblers. On the Scrape were a Ruff, a Green Sandpiper, a Common Sandpiper and a Yellow Wagtail.
In Vallee de Vaux were 2 recently fledged Firecrests with an adult bird, also 3 Blackcaps and 2 Chiffchaffs, and at Noirmont this afternoon were a Whinchat, a Wheatear and a Redstart. House Martins fledged from two nest boxes in St Clement today too and a Peregrine was over the Grainville cricket field this afternoon.
